DigiProcure
Project Context
Role: Lead UX Designer
Date: Ongoing
Project Status: In Production
Feature Team: Project Manager, Development team.
I've been working with Digibuild software for over a year now as their lead ui/ux designer. DigiProcure is a material management solution designed to tackle today’s supply chain challenges and facilitate General Contractors, Subcontractors, and Suppliers to collaborate across all material purchases, order management, and deliveries from the start to the end of each project.
Joining as the only UX Designer, I owned the entire design and usability for this project. When I first began working on this project it was problematic with its overly small text, a bland and outdated design, and no clear direction in its flows. One of the first obstacles was creating a new design system, new organization system, and new UX/UI approval systems.
Insights
#1 Construction as a whole is behind in technological advancements that can really streamline a lot of the processes that are used daily.

We found we could create a platform that would move away from paper and excel based materials contracts, a straightforward and easy way to find, order, track deliveries from the start to finish of each project.
#2 Construction companies are losing a lot of time and resources to get materials and orders in place for large projects.

Through Digiprocure we can make it so users can quickly turn material takeoffs into RFQs, and send to their current suppliers and more within our network. They can find better pricing with the click of a button and once orders are placed, Predictive Scheduling and Must Order By Dates help you stay on schedule. Plus automated lien waivers save time, reduce paperwork and accelerate payments.
User Stories
#1 As a Subcontractor I want to be able to place RFQ's, get a Quote and place in order in one platform for a streamlined process.
#2 As a Subcontractor I want to be able to compare the prices of a variety materials, change materials and their quantities as well as get updated pricing quickly in one platform.
My Contribution
I am the primary UX/UI designer on the team, therefore, I designed this software essentially from start to finish. Since this is a current ongoing project I cannot include more pictures of my work aside from the sigma screens that serve as the hero image for this page.

I worked very closely with my teams PM as well as the leadership team to assure that I was producing design the team approved of. My PM and I worked together to create comprehensive User Stories with acceptance and testing Criteria.

I owned and spearheaded the design process from start to finish for nearly all of the features currently implemented and ready to be developed within the Digiprocure system. This project often requires very rapid prototyping and ideation which caused a slight change in the design process to make sure deadlines are being met.

I primarily used Figma for this project but I do occasionally have to use photoshop to create small elements for the platform, such as the load spinner and other small icons.

I fully participated in the Agile process and assisted developers and QA when needed in understanding the correct implementation. I also frequently Demo'ed work to the Leadership team for various walkthroughs and approvals.
Highlights
#1 Lead and designed all pages and functionality for the DigiProcure Platform.

While this project had a couple of screens from a previous designer when I was brought on board, I quickly realized that the design of the platform did not meet the company's mission of bringing color and joy to the field of construction. With that in mind I played with some color theory and brought more color and a far more modern feel to the digiprocure platform, updating any previous screens with the new design and continuing the design through the rest of the platform and new functionality.
#2 Challenged the processes that were set in place in the construction industry for better UX.

One thing about construction is that they are stuck in their ways. Therefore when I was brought on outside of the industry I saw some glaring problems in the way things were being done. Since we wanted this platform to streamline processes and make things simpler for the users I found I often had to challenge why we had certain steps in the ux process. This often lead to discussions to determine if the process that was in place was optimal or if it was something of habit. Due to challenging some of these ideals we've been able to cultivate a process that is far easier for the users and makes it so that our software is one of the easiest ones to use on the market. Due to this users or companies do not need to spend hours and a lot of money on lengthy training times to learn the platform.
Impact
The project is still in some early phases however we have received excellent feedback on what we are doing and the processes that we currently have in place as well as the design from various stakeholders, investors, and clients currently within the platform. The designs have also helped to contribute to bringing on more investors and more funding for the company.
